Born in Newark, NJ, Ms. Ciera Young is proud to call North Carolina her home since the age of 13 (Durham, Hillsborough, and Chapel Hill area). She's currently using her Master's degree in Management, in addition to her dynamic stage presence, and undeniable writing abilities to fulfill her passion of inspiring others. Most are shocked then moved when hearing her speak whether its poetry, music or conversation. She is generous when sharing her story of success in the face of adversity. She was in the foster care system from the age of 14-18 and endured the typical trials of foster care. At the age of 18, during her last year in high school she received an atypical blessing from her foster sister Kizzmekia Corbett. Foster parents Rhonda and Terry Brooks took her in and have been her supportive parents ever since.

The "Power of The Tongue (John:3)" was explained and its importance was influenced upon her by her preacher when she was younger. It has followed her throughout her life. Grateful for this blessed journey, Ms. Young shares her story and her blessings with young men and women through speaking engagements and workshops. While attending Livingstone College, she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ms. Young moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to work for Johnson C. Smith University as a Residence Hall Coordinator (beneath Terry McPherson). The talented, determined "Go-Getta" did not stop her journey toward success. She began to work for Woodforest National Bank part-time. She received two promotions in less than two years due to her exceptional customer service.
